1.5 can play downloadable games
2.5, 2.6, 2.7 can only play orginal psp games
try go sim lim, one shop sell 2.6 at $299 value pack

yes there's a new version of d PSP that comes with a bigger capacity memory card and has some sporty suffix added to PSP,sorry but i can't remember what that suffix is now...but there's a new version,that i'm sure of.

Older versions are regular. Newer versions have TA-082 circuit which basically means you cant downgrade if you have 2.50+ so far
other than that, there is no difference

Don't think so. They released a white one with new firmware about a year ago, but I haven't seen anything new since then.
