Yea. we were thinking how glad we were to not be in the 70's with the "Hey man" "far out" "Daddio" Crowd.
You never heard the words "I'm Hip" after 1980 except to make fun of the drugged out hippy freaks, in their Flower Power V W bus. I still laugh at that...
The only bad part about all the stuff that the freaks of the 70's did, is that they are the ones running the country now.
Hmmm Perhaps that is why everything is so screwed up...
:o)
Peace man

retrospectives are cruel and unusual
we didn't want the eighties after the great life in the seventies. each group was built on the debris left from the party of the last party and the party most go on music in the polyester disco ducky, jo nameth n.y.and the San Francisco forty niners, give anything to go back now and live in what is a PreHolocaust life compare to where we are. you got anything against 80's gas prices or 80's white world or 80's lack of computering and uploading music, I'd give up my computer any day to have my cocaine world back it at least didn't kill each other back then for some of the dumb stuff they do today, and who care it's all small stuff and were not supposed too sweat the small stuff

I graduated High School in 1985, so I am definetly a product of the 80's. It was a time of confusion for me cause I was a teenager. At that time every highschool had a Pat Benetar, Madonna, Flock of Seagulls, etc., wanna be. It was funny. Those were good times, baggys, ripped sweatshirts, leg warmers. The music was just music, like any other decade. Post hippie days.

Maybe on a pop level.,,Mtv moved in early 80's and it was a mixed bag to say the least. But the 80's saw bands like the Cure, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Smiths, REM,Elvis Costello and the Attractions, Husker Du,The Replacements, Concrete Blond....should I go on? Because I can.
Heh. Sorry I'm getting to the finger wagging age. "Back in my day..."
To an extent I can agree, but every era has it's styles that make us cringe.
It was more the politics of the age that unerves me more than anything.
Reganomics?

Born in '71, graduated in '89, and I loved the 80's. Miss them dearly. The Smiths, Cure, Duran Duran, (better than the junk today)
The '90's were the worst decade ever for music. 2000 is even worse, so far. I lived the 80's , believe me, they were better

Not really. Most of those styles can still be seen today, and a lot of the music today sounds very reminiscent of the 80's.
