I'm getting older now need to get a new wardrobe. I've been surfing the web and found shirts that cost around $70 per. These are button down dress shirts. Do you think it's expensive or is it normal? Again, the shirts are around $70.

To me that is expensive because I don't make very much money, so it depends on who you ask. Typically, the more you pay for an item of clothing, the better quality it will be. If money wasn't an object, I'd spend that amount. Tip Top Tailors has some good quality dress shirts for men around $30 and there are a lot of other places too that carry quality and a lower price.

That is about normal for a low cost dress shirt. You can still get cheaper..Try WalMart, Target, or KMart....IF you are able too...
Also, remember, sometimes online prices are slightly more expensive to cover advertising costs...even though they charge you an arm & leg for the shipping & handling as well.
Good Luck in your search...

Yes, this is considered expensive when you consider the availability of real nice shirts at discounted stores like Marshalls, TJ Maxx etc. Forget the internet and go shopping locally for the best bargains. Many stores are having clearance stores right now.

if you are paying full retail that is probably kind of normal. if you have outlet malls near you i would go there. I get designer dress shirts for about 30 each at outlet malls. The same shirts at a department store are over twice that.

I don't think it is expensive, but I would shop around in the stores to get a better deal, plus there is more of a variety-in store. Try at a mall, target, walmart, or K & G if there is one in your home town.

Depends on who is paying. I think it is expensive. You can go to Sears, JcPenneys, Kohls, etc. and get a button down dress shirt with a tie, for 29.99

It depends on the quality.
You should shop in stores you can walk into because god knows what you'll get online. Things always look better online. If you're in a store, you can actually feel the fabric of the clothes and try them on.
