i dont have any children, so i admit that i do treat my dog as though he was my child. he is an obedient, kind animal, who loves everyone. many of those humans you mention dont have the kindness or love for others that my dog possesses. i have the financial means to care for my pet in the manner that i choose. i dont think this makes me a bad person or uncaring of others. i fail to see any logic whatsoever in that theory.

Dogs are excellent companions. If you take an animal in, you should do everything you can to care for it. Keep in mind that many dogs work side by side with people. they herd, hunt, protect, provide therapy to the aged and disabled, help people who are blind and those with limited mobility. No other animal is so versatile and adaptable. I have always treated my dogs well. This is not in contempt of other people. It breaks my heart to see people living in poverty and squalor. However anyone in my household will be treated well be they family, guests or pets.

In this country, the dogs are considered more than as pets. They are considered as human beings and even as children. Pet owners call themselves mommy and daddy to the dogs. Statistics show that about 85% carry pictures of their dogs in their wallets. They go to the vets for regular shots and checkups. They go to the beauty shop for regular grooming. They are fed special food. Go to the supermarket, you'll find rows upon rows of foods specially formulated for the dogs. Some for strong bones, teeth growth and development and shine of their fur. And it's not unusual for a household to have more than one dog. Some dogs live altogether in a higher standard than some people.. Society's values have really gone to the dogs.
On the other hand, of the equation we have to acknowledge the contribution of dogs. They do make good companions. They can be trained to do tricks and entertain. They can be used as guards. They make excellent guide dogs for the visually impaired. They are used as fashion accesories by celebs.,and other rich people.
However, some viscious people get these violent dogs and turn them into killers. How many pit bulls have mauled a baby and adult women to death.? There is good and bad in everything just like human beings. But truly, do dogs have to be treated in the same peg as humans?

because their dogs give unconditional love. My dogs love me unconditionally but they also bring money into my home because i allow them to breed and i sell their puppies. They have brought a lot of money into my home and helped me support my children so i do spoil them by buying them the type of food they like and making sure they have plenty of attention and food.
I do make them mind and they don't mess in my home. They are spoiled though.
