I have a 7 year old son. His mother and I have been apart for 2 years. We were never married. When we seperated we agreed without going to court on visitation and child support which I have paid during this time faithfully.

The mother has married and recently sold home and left the state with my child without informing me other than a 3 day notice.
I am furious and hurt!

What can I do SPECIFICALLY at this point legally?

I have contacted a lawyer but but with retainer fee's exceeding my capabilities I feel helpless. There has got to be some info out there to help me with this situation.

I love my son a great deal and refuse to let him go. I have tried calling all week and mother is avoiding my phone calls. I have no idea where they are at!

You have to
FIND a WAY
or
MAKE a WAY
What are you willing to give up in order to fight for your son?
DO WHATEVER IT TAKES
and
DO IT UNTIL....

The legal system is your only route. May the Lord be on your side...

Good luck and don't forget to pray :)

first im sorry shes being a "B" right now.secondly you can go to the child support office and give them the situaiton clues.. normally they arrange a courtdate in front of the judge to assort matters. Usually when in different states.. the father would get the child all summer and mother through the school year or vise versa..

without a judge clarifying your rights to see your kid then theres not much you can do. U need a statement that states your visatation rights signed by a judge, without that then its going to be hard to fight. I am a college student working on my masters in criminal justice and believe me there are loopholes so im not saying to give up. There still may be a chance some lawyer might be able to help u out and build a case but it will be hard.

It depends on what state you live in. What state are you in? Was there ever a paternity test done? How long ago did she take off?

YOU HAVE RIGHTS as the father. It's not entirely up to her just because she gave birth to him especially if you're a good father.

Unfortunately you are going to have to appoint a lawyer to look after this matter. Because you weren't married, something you are going to have to do first is have a paternity test done to prove you are indeed the father.

You will one day need proof that you paid her and paid her consistently. bank records, Cheque stubs etc. Start gathering your files together.

You rights vary state to state. You can do a simple search on google.com to find the rights you have.

it's a long process but she has not commited a crime you must file a case in family court from there it's up to the judge.
ALWAYS GO TO FAMILY COURT WHEN DEALING WITH CHILDREN IN A DIVORICE OR YOU'LL END UP IN A SITUATION LIKE THIS
