No, no, no.... As a nerd, I have to state none of this is possible. For one, Wolverine's bones are made of adamantium, so 'splitting' would be a pretty impossible process as there's nothing in the world that can break it (although in AOA, Cyclops does manage to incinerate it, but... well, that's AOA for the love of god). And for two, if Wolverine *could* be cleaved down the middle, he would be absolutely dead. Mostly because his brain and spinal chord would be non-functioning. Which means all other body processes, including his healing factor, would effectively cease. At least... that's what I think. Of course, it depends on whomever is writing at the time... because... c'mon. It's not real.

Not split in half, but there IS a way to 'clone' him, so you would have two Wolverines. In Orson Scott Card's novel Treason, there are people with a super healing factor like Wolverine's. One of them gets gutted like a deer, and stumbles on (he is fleeing for his life) dragging his intestines behind him. His healing factor went into overdrive and could not decide which part was to be healed. So it tried to heal both. This guy got infected and had a fever for days, and when he woke up, he had a twin brother, joined at the belly. He was so grossed out that he tried to bash his twin's head in with a rock and sliced them apart, making the clone independent.

If that happened to Logan, the clone would not have an adamantium skeleton, but it should have the healing factor, the (bone) claws, and Wolvie's senses. Acceptable...? He could always get some adamantium later.

Hey, how about this: he gets cloned by Loki, who gives the clone uru claws instead of adamantium, so they are tough enough to cut Thor's hammer!
