I once left a fairly good paying job because I was lied to, discriminated against, and basically treated poorly. After nearly a year of biting my tongue and trying to work out a transfer to another department, I quit and went back to waiting tables at half the money, but was treated MUCH better.

OK, maybe not out right quitting without another job, but there was not another lined up in my field of chemistry.

I quit a job i worked at for 8 years, mainly because of discrimination, because the higher levels found out about a bankruptcy i went through..and decided to make my life even worse...by trying to push me out the door. I also injured myself there and you know that some employers will try to force you out and fire you over workers comp.

I could have sued them, but it wasn't worth it.

Six months later i found a better job with better pay.

Also, i guess you know when it is "right" to leave.

Sometimes, you just need a fresh start

I've done that! And it really comes to a point. Don't like working there anymore. And having the confidence to get another job right away. If a person knows a good trade.. And is good at it.. An employer will make it comfortable for you and keep you around.. Your making him/her MONEY.. and you are easy to get along with.

Yes, it's great to have a job but at what cost? I would rather be happy and poor than stuck at a dead end job doing the same thing day after day! Luckily I have a great job with great pay, but it wasn't always the case.

Either irresponsibility or they have totally lost it as far as being able to deal with a really bad work situation where there was disrespect or some other bad treatment that would cause them to leave immediately.
