Admitting you have a problem is the first step. You cant stop drinking for someone else you have to do it for yourself first. The only way to stop drinking completely is through a higher power. I choose God as my higher power and God brought me to AA. He has granted me the power to except things I can not change and the courage to change the things I can. AA (Find a local meeting on line or look up hot line), church and or counseling would be your best bet! God bless and good luck!

First, congratulations!
I don't think that I have the right answer and all the steps of how you can stop drinking. From one hand it is your decision. And you have to see that probably you might loose the woman you love if you won't stop drinking. Actually I'm amazed that she said yes.
I am a full time christian too and I would never marry a person whose life style is different from mine.
And since your fiance is christian I would say that she has an answer to your question. She would appreciate if you talk about it.
She loves you and doesn't want you to ruin your life and hers by drinking. I have 2 brothers who are drunk almost every day. It breaks my heart but they don't want to stop. You have a desire to stop it. And this is the place to start.
Wish you all the best.

Do her a favor.
Don't marry her until you've stopped completely.
Ask her if you can speak to her bishop/pastor/whatever about your situation.
Set the date for at least a year in advance. You can't just stop and say you're done if it's only been 2 weeks or 2 months for that matter.

Hear me:
She deserves a husband who isn't out partying and drinking all the time.
She is blinded by love but you need to MAN UP and not marry her if that's not something you're willing to give up.

Good luck :)

The 1st thing you must do is ask yourself a serious "Q" .
Do you think you may have a problem with alcohol ? Once you start drinking can you and do you ever stop with 1 or 2 ?
Do you end up drunk every time you drink ? OK that is more than one "Q"
I'm a recovering alcoholic 5 yrs . sober , that's how I know the "Q"'s to ask . If you think you do have a problem , there is help out here ! There is only one requirement from you , you need to want to live soberly more than the pull of that DISEASE !
You can go to my 360 page to leave me "Q"'s if you need , my page is open to public . Good Luck !

If you know you have a drink-problem you know the way to get
it away but at this time you just don't want.If you really want to
get that girl married than stop drinking, else try to find a drinking
girl,so you'll be both in the same boat.

I think God can help you and your fiancee, "the full time christian" and must of all with help of both of them yourself, stop drinking. and first of all stop going to this parties, since you obviously cannot enjoy them ,without drinking, and go with your fiance somewhere that you like to be their and you can , without drinking, stop hearting yourself, and very soon hearting your family, make it to your habit to talk to God every Day and as soon as you have dizzier to drink just sit and talk to him, everything would be OK . you have the best recipe for success.
