I have Might and Magic VII and VIII. When I install them the diagnostic comes up and says that the direct X version is not up to date. When I check using dx diag it shows I have Version 9.0.c. I just want to know how to fix it to where I can play both games.

Right click the icon of the game and click properties then a window should pop up. Then click the compatibility tab then click the check box in the compatibility mode section and click the drop down arrow to set it to windows 95 or something else to get it to work. then press apply and your done.

properties>compatibility>windows 95>apply

that might make it work but i don't know

regrettably no you cant and no it wont shrink to rubble it in simple terms wont deploy, i prefer to play Myst back yet regrettably the only way you're able to do it is to partition your not common tension in a million/2 and deploy homestead windows ninety 5/ninety 8 on that partition. i might try this yet good now I even have homestead windows xp professional and homestead windows 7 beta so no extra area for yet another partition. i would not partition your tension until eventually you have a minimum of 500GB not common tension and dont even use a million/2 of it and the only common way i understand of doing it rather is to apply a software like partition magic witch cost money and is not nicely well worth the cost in simple terms to play a prior activity. Edit. nicely i assume they made vista so it is going to play older video games yet I even have tried to place in many previous video games and it would not paintings. i ask your self is my homestead windows 7 beta will deploy Myst and my different video games. :D *runs to attempt it*

Create a dual boot system with Windows 98 and XP. Make sure to install XP last, on either it's own partition, or it's own drive.

click start, select programs, right click on the game, and choose properties, and there will be an option to run it in earlier versions of windows
