On E! True Hollywood Story of Scarface they said that they had proposed that (keep the movie the same, only change soundtrack)to director Brian De Palma but he was against it.

What would you do if the decision was yours?

Well, that's an EXCELLENT question. For those of us that are purists, I would say no. But, from a marketing standpoint it could be fantastic. Reaching a new demographic and creating a younger fan base that will then be passed on to yet another generation.

Personally, I wouldn't buy it. But life is about options and it is nice to have things to choose from.

I would say no. Like the others have said, it would ruin it, being that the movie is a classic all on it's own. However, you can say that this has already been done considering that a few rappers have already sampled songs from the original soundtrack. One being a song by Mobb Deep featuring Nas called "It's Mine", sampled from the theme song from Scarface (it plays in the beginning opening credits) and another song by them called "G.O.D. Pt. III" was also a Scarface sample. Rick Ross is another rapper who sampled a song from the soundtrack in a song called "Push It" sampled from a song called "Push It to the Limit" by Paul Engemann.

Admittedly the original "Scarface" had a horrible soundtrack, but re-releasing it again with rap soundtrack would make it even more ghastly.

If they changed the music, people would be shot over that. You can't mess with movies like that. How insulting of you to even ask it and how insulting of who ever asked De Palma. I kill the ****** cockaroaches!

Leave it as is. Asking an artist to change his art, is like asking P Diddy to perform Opera presentations for his next production. Do you think he would allow that?
