My heart goes to the families of those kids, all little girls that have been shot by another demented man. I believe the media covers of such events on the news, time after time, after time again does trigger some kind of evil thoughts in certain people and being filled with hate already, it gives them the idea to get rid of what their twisted mind perceive as potential revenge against what has been done to them sometimes way back when they were children. It is all right to cover the news, but is it the right thing to do to show repeatedly what has happened and how ?

We have Amish people here in Tenn., they are tight nit, so the whole Amish community probably knew the girls and their family..Found it very cool that the two different worlds could live together on this planet, and now, if they trusted "us" to an extent, they sure have reason not to now...Bothering them is almost like you were messing with the church or being mean to your grandparents, you just don't, and they don't bother you...You should see their farms here and what they can build, and the quilts.... Bet the elders are freaking out right now..What they are going to do..How to handle this, because it is a crime scene now, under city/county/state guidelines, how will that conflict with their beliefs, what a mess.......A very sad thing what happened!

Lurid news: right or wrong? How long has this debate been going on? OK, the technology means the news is much more in your face now than it once was, but that's not necessarily a bad thing in all cases. I do worry, however, that we get too callous with regard to violence. Also, as you point out, sometimes just knowing someone else did it is enough to trigger a nut-case to imitate.

I have not seen the news, because I haven't owned a TV in over 20 years, but I'm guessing they are getting much more graphic. Showing the victims, for example. Used to be, there were limits of good taste on TV. They even had a "Broadcast Standards" thing they mentioned every night before they shut down and in the morning when they started up. Now that they run 24/7, I guess they have forgotten all about standards of decency.

The media is faultless in print and / or broadcast of news coverage - it is their function. Bear in mind that repetition of news reach different people at varying times of the day and that good news coverage include providing sufficient details.

It is always tragic and unfathomable that the innocent are victims of deranged killers. Instead of proportioning blame on the media, it would be better to ensure that school authorities provide adequate protection and security in view of recurring events.

No faith is terrorist.for this reason the question of killer faith would not upward push up. to boot , Hinduism isn't a faith. so some distance as terrorists are worried ,they are recent in each and every faith.of course there are particular factors in Islam that helps terrorists to justify their act. surely lack of awareness is the killer of religion.

Did you notice there were 3 attacks in school in one week? And that 2 were attacks on just females?
Sad, so so so sad!

Someone violated the Amish life...the peaceful Amish. They must be a mess right now!

I think the media has a responsibility to cover all the news no matter how bad it is. A stupid psychopath is eventually going to do what he wants. Too bad instead of just killing themselves they have to kill innocent people too.
