What's your favorite? I want to watch a couple more anime series all the way through, but I'm not sure which ones I should go for. What do you recommend?

I've already seen Trigun and Cowboy Bebop.

Ghost in the Shell - see the original movie first. If you don't like that too much, then don't bother with the StandAlone Complex series. If you dig the movie, then SAC and SAC:2nd gig are must-sees.

I agree with Ruroni Kenshin for a grand storyline (although some episodes fall flat) and Samurai Champloo. I'll also add Yuyu Hakushou to that list.

But for THE most hilarious parody of anime, you just can't beat Excel Saga!!! That's the series for real diehards.

Well, if you liked Trigun and Cowboy Bebop, then I'd suggest the following anime:

FullMetal Alchemist - it's good stuff. Lots of action, cool characters, and a plot that is filled with stuff to make you think twice.

Rurouni Kenshin - it's one of my favorites. I love the characters and the historical setting.

Neon Genesis Evangelion - a classic anime series that's highly regarded. It's one of those anime series every fan should see, at least to form their own opinion on it.

Rorouni Kenshin is an awesome anime. Bleach is pretty good too but I haven't seen a whole lot of them.

Kenshin is recommended, especially season 2 and 3 are my favorite. It takes part in Japan during the Meiji era, there is civil unrest, and Kenshin is an ex assassin who has vowed never to kill again. He still fights though, there is plently of fighting with some inner conflict and just a touch of a love story. But both animes have a lot of fighting and some blood.

From your mention of 90s action anime, I would recommend Neon Genesis Evangelion. One of the great classics, in my opinion. Its hard to deine it genre wise, but I would say its basically mecha. And a psychological mind trip.

Samurai Champloo is good for bebop fans.

Also, if your interested in giving shoujo a chance, Fushigi Yugi. One of my personal favorites of all time. The storytelling truly sucks you in, like an epic soap opera. I've known guys who didnt care even care about romance titles get emotionally hooked on this one.

Naruto

Because its smarter than youre average cartoon, original, storyline is good,, its moving, its motivating (i learned not to give up again because of the series), and ofcourse the action is awesome.

But ofcourse that's just me.. People got different opinions and likings, im sure a common girl wouldnt be into Ninjas lol, but the series is not all about that, and im sure that anybody can relate with the story ;)

Yu Yu Hakusho was pretty good stuff. It starts off a little slow but then gets really good. Plus you can watch nearly all of it on Youtube and it's full episodes of the show (they have through episode 60 or so). Not just little pieces like most of the stuff on youtube. Also, Fullmetal Alchemist and Naruto have been good for me.

Hey, i've seen trigun too. that's some funny stuff, it can remind you of Kenshin though considering the Fact that That one of those characters voices sound like Karou. There is no Best anime though because they're all good!

I would say as of this year, naruto because it's got diverse characters and fighting styles altogether. You'll get addicted to it. Bleach is also pretty awesome, but I'm just here to give you my opinion. At the moment I'm also watching the anime series kiba which is fairly new. Just youtube it(www.youtube.com), you'll find a series you like.

Fullmetal Alchemist. Good, fluid plot, nice art, long series, has a movie, has big big fanbase for you to enjoy after finishing the series.

(You can read the manga too--the anime/manga storylines are vastly different)

You can try Ouran Host Club as well. I don't know why, but I like it (probably because it's cute)
