Its your life and its your choice, chemo and radiation therapy can cause very sever side effect's and destroy so many white blood cells during the process (in chemo) that you even a small bought of the flu could and does prove fatal to some.

However in saying that after going through a major surgical operation like you have, i do believe that i would go the full distance and give myself the best possible chance of recovery from cancer.

However there is a good chance that the surgery got all of the cancer before it spread, so i wish you good luck and good health for the future.

yes, you are crazy. the treatments are very difficult to endure, and as a result, your oncologist would not recommend it if he/she didn't believe it was necessary to increase your chances of survival. for the sake of argument, there exists no oncologist cruel enough to make a patient undergo a procedure that will provide minimal benefit for excessive suffering, there is enough suffering in cancer treatment to satisfy even the (hypothetically) most sadistic of oncologists. please, finish your treatment. if you don't and it comes back, you'll regret it for the rest of the excruciating year you're alive. sorry i'm being so hard on you, but i've seen too many people opt out of post-surgical breast cancer treatment and terminally relapse too many times to let this one go...

only you can answer that question. your way is the quickest and probably the safest. you still have to take tamoxifen for fiveyears, don't you. radiation takes a long time to recover from. even if you think you should have done different it is too late now. my wife has a big divot where the lump was. you can have reconstructive surgery if it is an issue.

Not at all, you got rid of the problem. Don't second guess yourself, you made the right decision for yourself. Unfortunately we are in such a body image society that would be the only reason someone would make stupid thoughtless comments to you. Good for you. I am sure that was a hard decision to make. =)

However you choose to proceed, this is your life and you are the only one who can truly make that decision. I hope you have a strong support group around you.
