You can only motivate yourself, have you given any thought too changing your major, I had the same problem when I dropped out when I was 19 years old. I worked for many years when I realized that I needed an education to climb up the pay scale at work...yes money makes the world go around.
I am now Communications major with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in counseling, I will graduate in December and I already have a job lined up for myself...
Enough said about myself, I think you should stick with college, you need it and in the end you will be in a better situation, if you drop out now...most people will not ever go back to finish what they have started. The only reason I had a chance to finish was dear friend of mine pushed me until I went back to school. Unfortunately he passed away in May and he will never get to see me walk but I know he will Be watching me from above.
What are you waiting for, get started on that homework and your college semester will be over before you know it and you will soon be walking to get your diploma.
Good Luck, Joe

You should be proud of yourself being valedictorian, and thankful. But, people don't just get sent to school to lose all their happiness, energy, time and money. There is a purpose for being there and trying your hardest in school. You need to go to school to survive in the real world, not everyone gets their dream jobs and all. At least you could live out there rather than be desperate to pay for different things and have various problems. I am no valedictorian or an important person at school, but I can tell you that whether I have the motivation or not to learn, I'm sent there to succeed. Look at the words you write, how wonderful you write them.. look at yourself and wonder how you have the ability to think and doubt certain things. You may not have really seen it, but I do know you have learned much from school. The point of school is definitely not only to get a diploma or tell everyone you passed, it's a much more serious goal. It's to live. It's to shape your future and how you are going to be. You are right, school is like a routine, but do you really think you are sent there just to keep you busy?.. Not only do people learn in classes, but also from the people around them. You get a small taste of what might happen in the real world. I'm sure you would not have been able to educate your self better without the years of being in school in the past. If you look at your teachers and what education had made them, you know it really works. It just takes time and commitment to being successful. Don't let the loss of motivation take control of your life, you have to be strong and do your best. God Bless.

Sure .. I'll motivate you.
US News and World Reports has a recent article that 37% of those who enter college don't graduate.
The article says that colleges need to do a better job of allowing students to succeed.
I disagree. I think college should mean something. If you can't do it, then you will be a carpenter or a waitress for the rest of your life.
The world needs more carpenters ... they go to work at 4am and labor the day through, hammering nails and lifting big sheets of wood.
20 years old? You don't even know why you are in college. You have zero passion for what you are doing. You should have taken five years off after high school so you'd know WHY you are in college.
The hungry ones leave the kiddies behind. It's your choice, serve the world or be served -- the investment is minimal.

I went through the same thing after I graduated high school and went straight to college. I am now 27, and I am loving school. My motivation is something I am sure you don't have, though. I am a wife and mother to 2 girls. I am doing this for me and for my family. But I do have a suggestion for you. I assume you are going to a traditional campus University. Am I right? I know that a person can get swamped with assignments. Check out online Universities. There is no geting swamped with assignments there. Only two classes at a time. Associates degree in 20 months. University of Phoenix.

Accounting seems rather boring in class but you use it in so many different jobs......its a very handy tool and if comes easy, like it does for me, hell its an easy A.
If you really aren't sure what you want to do have you thought about the military service? They can test you on your apptitudes and suggest career fields. You can test with all of them and let them make offers, as you try to make the decision as to which one you want to go for they will up the offers....

man, I totally understand you. Same here with me. What keeps me going is, I want to have time off, to enjoy my life, I want a semi-easy job. (easier than a high school diploma job) that is. A few years of college pays off in the end. Thats what keeps me going. And if you don't like your major, just change it. There are tons of jobs you can obtain with a degree. Do something that you like.

Stick with it. Put up pictures of all the things you'll be able to buy once you've earned your degree and kicking butt in the job market: Lambo, beach house, 102" plasma, smokin' hot wife- whatever.
Justification for high education.
You can do it.
