Definitely he should be able to communicate with bats. He could then have a legion of assistance from the bat community. I agree with you, bats are way cool and not scary at all. They are also not blind, they have great vision and could tell Batman what is going on in Gotham.

Actually bats don't demonstrate social structures, like family life or friends. Their crowding behavior in caves is just like people getting on a subway and crowding together. It doesn't mean that they are communicating in a social way.

And Batman has been shown to use bats before. In Batman Year One, he used an ultrasonic device to call the bats from the Batcave (not trained, just instinctive behavior) to him. So when he was cornered by the police, and a huge swarm of bats came and hid him from their eyes so he could get away, they thought there was something supernatural about him. It enhanced his reputation in the early days.

As far as being able to speak in bat cries and hear their high pitched voices, Kirk (Manbat) Langstrom can do that.

NAH...communicating with bats would be too obvious, like Spiderman talking to spiders. We already have enough characters that communicate with animals Aquaman, Aqualad, Ant-man, Psyche to name just a few...we really dont' need another...

batman only uses the bat as a way to strike fear into the hearts of men....as a child he was scared of bats an therefore wanting to infuse that same fear into thugs and hoodlums...lol;....imagin if iron man could talk to iron...would'nt dat b corny?

I actually think this would suck. What makes Batman cool is that he's just a normal guy who goes above and beyond. He doesn't have super powers. That's what makes him cool.
