only because they were first to realise that mobile phones would be the next big wave....and by the time others like Motorola started looking up , nokia has captured the market and word of mouth got around,
apart from easy navigation (which almost all brands offer today), nokia phone are bought because their chargers are easily available.... across in any house hold. (very practical reason). now with their small pin chargers even that advantage is taken away from Nokia and thats where motorola and Sony ericsson are eating into their share...

They are Constant doing lot of R & D!
Ironing out problems then releasing fully functioning handsets!
The Service Providers need to be able to Provide Better back-up & Support rather than taking bundles of cash from 'US' The users!!
