He makes it abundantly clear when he performs the song in concert.
In the middle of the song, there's a point where the woman sings, asking him various things he'd do, and to each of them he says "I can do that". Then the woman sings, "Sooner or later, you'll be screwing around"... and Meat Loaf sings "I won't do that".
The one thing he won't do for love is "screw around".
