I called my mom's mom grandma and my dad's mom ommie (the spelling might be off it is German). My grandkids call me Nana and my soon to be grandkids call me grandma --- (insert my first name). I am a former army brat from up and down the east coast.

I call my grandmother Nani because that's what she wantes to be called. She says grandma makes her sound old. Little does she know she is old. lol Oh by the way I guess the word Nani is polish for grandmother and yet she doesn't want to be called grandma figure that one out.

Well unfortunately my grandmother on each side is passed away...
I never knew my dad's mother, but I did know my mom's mom...
I called her granny and I am in Texas...

I call my grandmother Grandma, but my aunt is called Nana by her grand-daughter, my husband calls his grandmother Nan, and my mom has her grandkids call her Mom-mom!! (My family is from PA)
