I have appealed several times and they still say they can't pay me. What should I do next. I cannot work and hubby is 73 and he still works to supplement his income so we can eat as he calls it. Can anyone tell me what to do? I am 52.

You can't get SSDI, but you may still qualify for SSI, which is different and doesn't depend on your work history. I get SSI, because I didn't qualify for disability. It is less money, but it is SOMETHING, anyways. Ask your social security case worker about it.

I don't have the answer but my heart goes out to you. I am disabled at 50, but I had many years in at work. Perhaps an attorney can help or the Department of Human Services, in other places called Dept. of Human Resources. Also contact your congressman, over and over if needed.

Study what you need to get accepted. Most of the people that are honest, and need it don't get it. They literally almost force you to lie because they deny you unless you fall in the specific guidlines.
It really upsets me that people that are disabled cannot get what they are entitled to because of being honest.
I know a man who has a wife that is dying, and they denied her so he is working two jobs to pay bills, and he is nearly disabled himself. Very sad..

are you in the US? You can be disabled here and never work a day to get SSI. Some people are born disabled.

Where are you from? In the US, if you are totally disabled, if you can't get disability, you should be able to get Social Security. or SSI.
