My hubby is usually very good, as is my son(son is probably better), but every now & then for a couple weeks, my hubby forgets?! When I bring it up he laughs(seems to do on purpose, just to get a rise) & we have the same discussion over & over! He says I should leave it up for him, and I say it should be down. not just for me! My argument is that 3 out of our combined (male & female) 4 lower body functions require the seat down, and they have never fell in, or felt the cold rim, cause they know the seat is down thanks to us bitching and reminding them to do so!! So, I told him we'd ask the world tonight!! SO, VOTE PEOPLE. VOTE!!!

Toilet seat down for us woman.. If he's just urinating, toilet seat up for him.. My man seems to love the toilet seat down when he has to pee stating the hole is big enough..I managed to sit on that sh*it one night, and it wasn't funny..A cold wet a*ss and I just cleaned the bathroom and had a bath myself.. I must've cussed him out all night..LOL We still haven't come to an agreement on this, but I'm winning due to bit*ching too...The only difference is you want it down which I terribly agree, but the bad thing about it is I want my man to lift it up and he won't..Stay bit*chin' at um girl..It really does work..(Smile)

It may not be the kind of "vote" you're looking for, but I don't care. I will, however, say this; I was married for 19 years, and for 15 years of that we were raising a daughter. I was thoroughly trained to put the fool seat down. Now, I've lived alone for almost 6 years, and I still put the fool seat down. Habits are hard to break.

I once heard a story about a woman who sat down only to find a giant rat had somehow found its way into the bowl. This is a good argument that both lids should be left in the down position. However, it baffles me how someone could not look before sitting down. In my 25 years of bathroom usage, I have never commenced evacuations from either oriface with the lid in the incorrect position.

If checking to see that the toilet seat is in the desired position before using the toilet is more than you can handle then you should be institutionalized.
Why do women simply not check first? Is there some biological reason why a simple glance at the john before you sit can't be done?
I've been using the toilet for decades and not once have I ever pissed on the seat because it was down and I didn't check.
Do women really deserve equal rights if manipulating a toilet seat is beyond their abilities?

Actually I saw on that show uhh Myth Busters I think its called that you should leave everything down (seat, lid and maybe a 3-lock box) cuz those germs are floating around in the air and if the toothbrushes are on the outside, as most are, then guess where those germs are going???? Yep right on the ol' brushes that hit your toophers! So the next time someone has bad breath and says they just brushed, you might wanna call them Butt Breath! Close it all is my vote!!! (Most bachelors don't clean the toilet all the time and should DEFINITELY shut it all anyway!)

PUT IT DOWN!! My husband always does. For an added bonus he even puts the lid down, which is real nice in the middle of the night when I sit on that!! Oh well. Seat should go back down!

I really don't care, He never leaves the sit down and once in a great blue moon he will but it really does not bother me. Maybe it's because my dad always left the seat up and one night I got up and my butt went right in. I learned after that night to always check.
