Are you kidding?! Most of the time we do nothing BUT express our feelings here in West! Makes me wonder if we have any brains at all to fame a thought around! Please- let's learn how to DEAL with our feelings, so that we can get on with our lives...

I agree to a great extent with Joseph II: we do a lot of expressing of our feelings in the West. At the same time, there are certain feelings that are not appropriate for each gender--these are unwritten rules. Women are not supposed to get angry; men are permitted this and are often perceived as strong when they express their anger (so long as it is expressed non-violently). When women get angry they are perceived as being "hormonal" or mean. On the other hand, men are often ridiculed for expressing tenderness and/or fear and/or sadness--they are permitted to do so around women; but not among other men. Generally speaking, though, we are quite open about expressing our emotions.

Tsk. Not nearly as stoic as the asian culture, western society is almost naive in expression of feelings.
