i dont think that it will make him feel happy if he found out that you are not inlove with him...are you not? i am actually thinking that you afraid to accept the fact that you still love him but you are afraid bec he might cheat again. well you still love the person then i believe you have to take the risk. falling inlove doesnt assure that you will have a happy ending., its like enjoying the ride. we all have to take the risk.

well from what u said, i would say that u still care about this guy a lot and maybe don't even realize it. Cause you said that u hate to see him like that. it doesn't sound to me like u lied when u said u loved him too. but then again only u will know that. ur probably just not IN love with him anymore.
Just be careful because although he's going through a tough time right now, he can also be using that to his advantage to get back with u and it's quite possible that you will get hurt again. So don't be too vulnerable.

first of all tell him how you feel. dont make him think you have a thing for him. tell him that you dont want nothing serious. only to be friends. the only thing you can do is to be a friend to him since his grandmother died. so just make it clear before anything else serious happen. so he wont get hurt more. good luck

No. Love is misused and abused too much these days. Everyone wants to say it or hear it, but will not take the time to actually experience it.

IF YOU DONT FEEL THE SAME ABOUT THIS GUY THEN YOU
NEED TO BE HONEST WITH HIM. AND LET HIM KNOW WHAT
REALLY IS THE DEAL. IM SORRY FOR HIS LOSS. BUT YOU
STRINGING HIM ALONG IS NOT GOOD FOR ANY ONE. YOU
MAY JUST NEED TO LEAVE HIM ALONG. HE MAY NEED YOU
AS A FRIEND AND THAT FIND. BUT IF YOU REALLY DONT WANT ANY THING MORE THEN TELL HIM.

first of all, I think he would benefit from a little counseling since he is having trouble coping with the death of a loved one... but that aside, he seems remorseful for having lost someone that he considers special in his life, that he can talk to and helps him feel better... maybe you should think about that and see if you can talk to him about making things work this time.....

whoa now...
ok. i wouldn't tell someone i loved them just to appease them. 'love' is a strong word to me, anyway... perhaps tell him that you will support him in this troubled time, but it is only as a concerned friend...nothing romantic will occur again due to the past. and leave it at that.
best of luck to ye.
