Thats a good question coz the answer is a s good as the place itslef. Dont go and put yourself anywhere else apart from Michigan avenue. Hyaat, Intercontinental, Hilton, Mariott, Westin, House of Blues. These are some of the places you would wana stay.

If you got the paper to spend you can stay at these hotels:
Four Seasons
The Drake
Hotel InterContinental
Swissotel
Palmer House Hilton
Hilton Towers

Most hotels near Michigan Av aka Magnificent Mile are the best for shopping.

A good bet would be the Sutton Place Hotel. Its less than a block from the best part of Michigan Ave (Water Tower, Oak Street, Etc). Its a great hotel, but the block it's on is quiet.

Downtown Chicago is nice you can walk to everything! its great! The westin is a real nice place to stay its right across the street from the sears tower and If you need to go anyplace you can take a taxi and you will never have to look for one there is always one 5 feet away from you

Travel to the near southwest suburbs and check out Oak Brook Mall. Real close to 290, Roosevelt Rd & 294.

It's 3:05a and I'm about 2 blocks away from Michigan Avenue right now. It's without a doubt the most spectacular strip in the country. If you're a pretty woman, I'll go with you when you get here! LOL.

Anywhere the El can reach Michigan Avenue, if you stayed there you wouldn't have any money left to shop with!

The Peninsula---it's right on Michigan Ave and in the middle of all the great stores
