If its not gonna work for a living then it doesn't really matter.

If it's gonna be a work truck then definately a Ford.
I manage a fleet of hard working trucks and all of the dodge's are gone. Not because we didn't like them, WE LIKE THEM. They just didn't stand up to the work load and cost more to keep together than they were worth. (Fuel pump $640) (Brake rotor $380) (pretty exhorbitant) They just kept breaking down all the time. It sucks to have this truck that you have to keep towing back to the shop once a week for something different everytime and can't make any revenue off of it, as it will be down for at least 3 days waiting for overpriced parts.
We still have all of the Fords. As much as the people moan and groan ( mainly because they want a new truck ) They just can't kill the old Fords.
Personally being a Ford hater, this has been an eye opening experience. The durability of the Fords is, well, as much as I hate to say it, impressive. Even the few chevy's we have out performed the Dodge's, but we don't have enough Chevy's to make a good apples to apples comparison.

My total fleet of pick-ups 63.
Oilfield Service Company (workover).

It relies upon on what you seem for in a truck. I purely bought a 2005 avert Ram 1500 on Friday. I drove comparable Ford and GM autos and felt that the Ram ideal my tastes extra appropriate. indexed below are my thoughts on all of the autos I drove. bear in mind that those are all previous technology autos, the main modern technology might sense notably diverse. They have been all universal cab/short mattress autos with 4X4. Ford: The Ford F150 I attempt drove became right into a 2006 XLT with the 5.4L V8. It felt the main significant. It had a very sturdy and sophisticated feeling that the Ram and GM twins purely did not have. It additionally had the quietest indoors and the main suitable build high quality. besides the undeniable fact that, all that refinement and sound deadening comes at a cost, the F150 is critically heavier than a Ram 1500 or Silverado 1500. It wasn't sluggish, besides the undeniable fact that it did not have the %.-up that the GM and avert autos have. The Ford truck became into additionally the main costly truck I drove by utilising a significant margin, they do carry their value particularly nicely. Ford autos additionally score the main suitable in reliability comments. avert: i bought a 2005 Ram 1500 SLT 4X4 with the 5.7L Hemi. It became into the means king of the autos I drove. The GM and Ford autos do exactly not analyze to the quantity of rigidity the Hemi moved this truck with. I additionally concept it became into the main suitable finding truck. The Ram had the main quantity of room at the back of the seats for storage and the mattress had the main suitable tie-down hooks. It became into additionally the main suitable deal. i assumed it rode extra appropriate than the GM autos, however not particularly besides through fact the Ford. GM: I attempt drove a 2006 GMC Sierra with the 5.3L V8. This became into the least appropriate of the autos I drove. It felt the main inexpensive of all of the autos. It had the main street noise, the main wind noise, and it did not sense as solidly outfitted through fact the avert and Ford. It additionally wasn't besides concept out through fact the avert and Ford, the two one in all which had so plenty extra features to lead them to extra practical. It did sense swifter than the Ford, however that has extra to do with the Ford's heft than engine means. on the plus facet, it does score extra appropriate than the Ram in reliability comments, however not particularly besides through fact the Ford.
