If the pipe is only attached to the pipe, replace that section of pipe. If the pipe came with the hot water heater, then replace the hot water heater.

Best case: could be to loose pipe couplings that need to be tightened. Unscrew them and either re-wrap with teflon tape or apply more pipe dope on the threads and re-assemble.

Worst-case: one of the pipes is corroded and you need to replace the water heater. In that case, make sure that you or the plumber install a dielectric union or nipple on both the cold inlet and hot outlet water pipes. These will eliminate the possibility of a galvanic cell forming between the steel tank and copper pipes on your hot or cold water pipes, which will then lead to corrosion of your pipes.

make sure there was good threading tape on the fitting...otherwise it could be the thermostat not opening to the relief valve that's the pipe that comes out in the front/middle of the other two pipes normally cold coming in (right) hot going out (left). Mine was leaking about two weeks ago I had to replace it though...if you have hard water like in AZ and it eats metal like that; ours only lasted two years...other than all that the pipe might need to be replaced too you never know...when in doubt call someone who knows somebody who does that type of work...at least it's cheaper that way.

Leaks on the top pipes usually are either from bad soldering or corrosion. either way it just means replace the pipe or re-solder the pipe. I think the water heater is fine.

it is unusual for a pipe to start leaking after a month, you don't say how old your tank is. First try to tighten the connection if that is where it is leaking, if it is leaking from some other place, you might have to get a plumber
