He was a bit uptight (as only William H Macy can do it) if I remember correctly.

I think that she was right to leave. By the end, George seemed to realize just how little he knew Betty as a person rather than just as the person who made his dinner - and that she had been sacrificing her sense of self for him and the kids.

Well, considering it was not real, I guess it doesn't really matter, however, as a moral quesiton, I think it was mean for her to just up and leave, go do it with the soda shop guy without ever talking to her husband. How can her husband know that there was anything wrong and fix it, if she never talked to him about it.

i think she was right. its funny i was just talking about this movie today. me and a few friends are going to be people from a black and white film for halloween, and like betty do the grey makeup and make ourselves black and white.
great movie btw.
