Consumers are those who use a service or product.

A survey is when consumers are asked a number of questions that are intended to provide insight as to why, when and if.

The results are compiled with the intent to see if the product or service is meeting actual or likely consumer needs in areas such as price, availability, suitability and results.

This helps a company to become more competitive or to introduce a substitute product or service.

a consumer survey is a survey for the consumer base of a company. So, if you sold music cds, you would create a survey that asks music listeners questions that might help you understand your customer more and perhaps increase sales.
