I have made a website, I want to earn money by posting some adv. banners on my site. Can anyone tell me where i can find these sources? Is it possible if I directly contact some large companies? Or will they simply offer some marketing plans for me to apply? Thanks a lot!!!!!!

First you should have something attractive in your website to attract people into your website say, like know latest general knowledge, current events , train timings , filght timings etc, etc. This would induce people to visit your website . You also place a counter to show how many people have visited your web site. Then on your website create some sample advertisement banners for prospective clients to view. Then go through telephone directory or some other reference and collect the address of all the people who might be willing to place the advertisements. Send a letter to them stating your rates and the benifets they are going to derive from it and also giving the address of your website. You can then collect there reply either through letter or taking it as input from your website.

No one will pay for advertising on your site if you just made it... I certainly wouldn't pay for advertising on a site that isn't getting any visitors... you will need to work on SEO and SE ranking first... then you might consider selling advertising space

Assuming you can get some traffic, why not sign up for a few affiliate programs and advertise for yourself?
