If one waits to start building an acting career at age 40 or so...are they just fooling themselves? That is, I have been told that the trouble I will have is that people my age will allready have many years of experience..so in other words..I have missed the boat. Although I feel that I'm not typical of most or all people of my age. But, I am serious about it, however it seem that it is too late.

I know many older actresses, that started late. One, in her 70s, didn't start acting until her 60s, and she works all the time, in theater and other areas.

Another actress started in her 80s. She only did Extra works on the soap operas in NYC, but, she was always booked on one of the shows shot her. She was energetic, lots of fun to be around, and had more vitality than most of us young'uns!

Find an acting teacher and begin your studies. It's a long hard road, and the acting classes can be tough, hang in there.

It actually isn't too late if you are really serious about it. Take some classes and start auditioning. Many directors go for age appropriate casting so you may just get the part before any obnoxious 20 year old. Have fun and way to go!

It's never too late. The "learning curve" that beginning actors have to negotiate isn't something that has a definitive timeline attached. In other words, if you have a knack for the craft, and you're diligent, there's no reason in the world why you couldn't be successful.

How can it be too late? And who said 40 is old? Geez.

If you want to do it, go do it. Get yourself out there and and have fun and enjoy acting.

Stop limiting yourself, the world is hungry for talent. The skills can be learned!

Those posers are conning you into not trying -- they don't know how the business works!
