I think it could be a good idea, but it discriminates against people that have HIV and can make them an outsider.

well it's just a recommendation, so you can still obviously refuse it. I however think it is a good idea, except for someone like me who has been with the guy for almost five years and haven't gotten any new tattoos or blood transfusions since the last time I had ever been tested... I think people must just be scared? But you know if you are pregnant you will automatically be tested I think....

Ok - so because less than 0.1% of the population may have a condition that they don't know about, the REST of us need to get tested?
And those 250,000 - I'm guessing they are "high risk" people - drug abusers, homosexuals, and people who engage in high-risk sexual practices.
It sounds like a huge windfall to the makers of HIV tests. I bet they lobbied hard for THIS recommendation!
Look, if you want to avoid AIDS it's simple - don't sleep around, don't shoot up drugs. If you do, then you should get tested.
If you end up needing a blood transfusion, then I recommend you get tested regularly as well because mistakes happen.
They are asking us ALL to take the test because of the stigma that goes with even THINKING you need a test. Excuse me for believing that certain behaviors SHOULD be shameful.

I think it's a good idea.
My ex-daughter-in-law was just diagnosed with Aids.
her and my son divorced 11 years ago,she is now into her third marriage-- separated from him and living with another guy.
I don't understand how she could be stupid enough to have unprotected sex. Evidently, she acquired Aids since the birth of her twins--six years ago.
I did not like the girl but I would not wish Aids on anyone.
I don't understand how people can be so stupid !!!!!

A: I think it is a good idea. It is an inexpensive test when done alone, and if you add it to the other tests, it would be even cheaper.
