I have to go with Rock. I am a guitar player and I will be the first to admit that rock really sucks right now, but rap is even worse. Rap has gone to stupid catch phrases, cheesey *** beats, and rappers that last 5 minutes and everyone forgets about them. At least rock people are Musicians. They play an instrument and have for numerous years. I think both genres are hurting right now, but overall I will give the nod to a bunch of musicians playing in crappy bars to get big, while rappers have to know a guy who knows a guy, and then they are big. Rock musicians don't make money off of record sales, rappers do. Real musicians make money off the tour, grinding it out on the road, I have more respect for them...even though rap and rock both suck at this point.

Rock has more grunt and grunge in it. It is electric and cool. It is much better than rap because in rap you don't what they're on about half the time and in rock it has much more emotions.

rock cuz it sounds simply better and its the kind of music that gets you theres alway a rock song to explain how you feel theres none of that in rap

Rock, because there is a whole lot more variety within the genre. There is also a lot of great rap, it's just that there isn't as wide a variety within that genre, that's all.
