Seriously, he freaks out when he see's anything Green...I'll be trying to highlight my school work with my green highlighter and he get's all irritated. Also, lately he's been digging at the pebbles in the bottom of his bowl and not been eating as regularly has he had in the past. What's going on? is this normal or will I soon have to flush him?

heh, I wasnt going to flush him unless he was dead...He's super active so I guess I don't assume he's going to die any time soon.
I just thought he was acting a bit weird.

Different Bettas will respond aggressively to different colors. Mine hates anything red. He can be rooting through the gravel for a variety of reasons. You may be overfeeding him and there may be planaria living in the bowl that he is snacking on (tiny white worms). You may be feeding flake food and he is scraping bits of them off his throat. The pebbles may be coated enough that he is seeing a bit of his reflection.
I would suggest to reduce what you are feeding and increase your water changes to be on the safe side.

LOL!!
I have had several bettas over the years, & I'm convinced they have individual little personalities!!
One of the two I have now sleeps completely vertical, either face-up or face-down. He also digs at the pebbles in his bowl. I think he just likes "standing on his head".
Mine all go through phases where the don't eat much; then they'll be like little pigs a few days later. Don't know if that's normal, but they seem healthy.

Good luck! Hope he's OK.

I'll bet he'll do that also if you stick a red polished finger nail up to the tank also.:) He imagines he is seeing another fish trespassing and its getting him all fired up. He doesn't know weather its going to attack him or what..... but that "green" is moving..

Depends on how old it is also, the fish mature and they tone down the overeating growth stage. Once a day is plenty for them, and not many, two three bites.

Mine do strange things, flare at the snails, the plants, flair at imaginary whatevers and get their tails in a kink over nothing, or just flit off like spooked by something.

Dont flush him until he is dead. Beta's are highly aggresive. I used to put up a mirror to my fish tank and he would flare his gills real big and get a huffy and active. It's just their nature. And his digging in the rocks could be his way of eating his food.

Beta's are fighting fish and color is a trigger for them to be aggressive. They will usually attack red and blue because they think it is another male beta fish.

I've owned several Beta's and my only advice about the flushing thing is--never name your fish anything that rhymes with dead. I had one named Red and one called Fred. Both met with an early death. Very sad!

This is "normal wierd betta behavior". He may just be bored. Try giving him a 1/2 hour of mirror time twice a week.

Thats okay. They have own personalities. My betta fish relates me with white papers. He comes towards me only when I shuffle a few papers in front of his tank.

he's probably trying to kill himself. i suspected that my fish was trying to kill himself because he kept swimming really hard and fast into the side of the bowl. when he died, his face was bloody. use that green highlighter one more time and little beta's going to burry himself under the pebbles...six feet under. haaaaaa.
