Yes. Motorcycle endorsement on your DL.

2 ways to get it. Take the motorcycle training course or complete a driving test and the DMV.

In California, a class B driver's license allows you to drive buses and single trucks above the weight allowed on the class C or automobile license. To operate a motorcycle in this state, you are required to hold a motorcycle license (if that is all you drive) or a motorcycle endorsement to your driver's license.

Dont' know where you are writing from, but in Texas, you are required to pass a written exam and a rider's test with a DPS officer behind you. Just a little piece of advice - do not EVER stop your bike without putting at least one foot down on the ground - they will fail you in a heartbeat - regardless of how well you can balance the bike!! Been there and done that!

Depending on where you live. AMA used to have a link that covered all the states motorcycle laws including helmet laws, eye protection laws, rules regarding carrying of passengers. . . It really is best to consult your local Depart of Motorvehicles though to get the most current requirements.

in washington state, and i am assuming in every state, or most of them at least you have to have special endorsement on your regular license to allow you to ride a motorcycle..in order to get it you have to attend motorcycle training class..which consists of 1/2 class room and 1/2 field skills testing on a bike...in washington state the size bike you test on dictates what level of endorsement you get...and what size bike you can legally ride
