Would be a much better WR than a RB??? Ive been saying this even before he was drafted and the Saints and Bush have helped prove my point. He is only avg. 3.3 yds per carry in 45 carries this season but as a receiver he has done a solid job on pace for 90 catches and 750 yds...as a RB just 588 yds on 180 carries. He is a real threat offensively b/c he is so versatile, but he is most dangerous as a WR b/c of his speed in the open field. His speed doesnt do much good as a RB b/c he cant break tackles and the defenses here arent the same as in the Pac-10, much much better, stronger, and faster. He will never be a very good #1 RB but he could be an amazing WR. Anyone else realize this??? Or still think he's the next Gale Sayers? (Which is WAY off)

Bush hasnt had the opportunities? He is almost getting over 11 carries a game...sounds like opportunities to me. He has never been a "feature" back (Lendale White was at USC) and he has never played a very good defense (Pac 10 sucks defensively) so his speed is useless when he's not in the open field, he has no way of getting into the open field b/c defenses are to good to let him do that in the NFL at the RB position. Thats why he needs to be a WR so he can get into the open field and use his athleticism.

A better line? The Saints line is pretty good. Deuce is avg. 4 ypc in only 19 more carries, Bush 3.3. Its not the line. Bush isnt even second or third best RB, its Maroney, Jones-Drew, J. Norwood, D. Williams then MAYBE Bush...

Yea, his running hasn't been to impressive yet, but his receiving is. If they can turn him into another Marshall Faulk he will cause fits for opposing defenses - but first he has to become a serious running threat.

They also have him doing kick returns, but personally I think you need to let him focus on offense, not having to worry about special teams.

Nope, Reggie Bush hasnt had the opportunities do as much runningwise as he has to catch passes because of Duece McAllister. If he were starting, he would most likely be more of a Brian Westbrook type of player (a little faster though). They use him where they need him and Duece is an extremely able runningback.

bush is an open field player, not specifically WR or RB, you just give him the ball in open space and he can make things happens and people miss. he is also a great punt returner, overall it's the open field skill that helps him out in all those positions.

naa i say bush will be fine in the long haul...he jsut needs a better line, he can always act as a recieving back liek westbrook or LT to get those looks....but thus far he isnt even the best rookie rb...mmmmaaaarrrooonney is, Heck, bush isnt even the best rookie on his team, marques colston has been lights out

yes i have said it time and time again...the only probem is hes not that tall so he would be at a disadvantage at reciever....however i think they should play him more at WR but keep rotating them (Reg and deuce) in at RB....once bush gets bigger and learns the NFL he will be deadly...no question...im hoping like LT or someone

Bush plays the same way as Marshall Faulk played. very very good at both running and receiving. i doubt he will ever be THAT good, but he will b up there.
