My husband and I have been seperated for 6 months. I am still close to his father's family. Yesterday he called and invited me to come and stay with them over Christmas. Is that normal?

Additional: I don't know if my ex will be there or not. It just seems odd to me that my ex inlaws would invite me to spend Christmas with them. They do not even live in the same town, it is like a 6 hour drive away.

Since you are still close, probably not. My sister's ex still spends holidays with my husband and I, unless we expect my sister (which is next to never). They've been divorced 2 or 3 years. Besides, his family may still be hoping for a reconciliation between you and your husband, too.

Yes even in relationships people do this cuz they need space. If you were around the same person all the time they would get board with you, but it might be best for him. But dont let him out of your site.

Maybe it means he doesn't want to lose your friendship. You two probably have alot of great memories together and have developed family ties even though you are not a couple anymore.

maybe he miss you and want to spend the holiday with you or he is planning to take you out (out of this world that is) make sure someone is in the house with you and you let someone close to you know where you are going and for how long.

Would be normal if you have kids together. Otherwise... it might be a bit awkward, especially if you plan on staying at the same house.

It is normal. You are still married legally and even if you weren't two people can still care about each other as friends even when they are divorced.

its normal because he obviously doesnt have a replacement. But i do commend your continued relationship with the family. i hate when people just cut ties with every single person whether they deserve it or not.

not "normal" but also not unheard of.
my best friend is close to his ex-wife's parents and even doubled with them and his new g/f.
they all had a great time...i couldn't pull that off, but hey- it takes all kinds!
