is it best to run a continuous line and loop it to each room or run single llines back to a junction ....

I prefer to run individual lines to each room from a central junction. I do this with both telephone and television lines. Maintenance and reliability are major factors. Individual lines can be repaired if damaged without causing an interuption in service to the others. There is also the possibility of some signal loss in a looped system. If you ever have the need to add or delete lines, a main junction comes in handy. .

What your really asking is the difference between a bus vs. star topology. In a bus topology when one connection breaks the whole network goes down. In a star if one breaks you can repair it by identifying that one line. It would be easier to just go with star (running each room with single line).

I HAVE RUN CONTINUES LINES TO SEVEN ROOMS, THE PHONES WORK FINE. YEARS AGO, IT USED TO BE MORE OF A PROBLEM.
