Not the same exact, maybe go for different shimmery shades of the same color group.

Are you African American? I've tended to notice those really pretty vibrant colors look best on dark skin. Like jungle green or ocean blue or whatever. Or...

It all depends. If it's a bold color, such as a bold red, green, or purple...you should try not to go as bold. I am assuming the dress is not black or brown, so if it's one of thoes bold colors, do a shimmery silver, some light pink with a pink dress, light purple with a purple, or light blue with a blue would be fine though. But just try not to do what my aunt did...try to use the stuff you already have at home. If you're getting a nice new dress, spring for some nice new eye shadow. Good luck and I hope she has a great time.

If her eyes are blue, use a reddish brown or a maroon shade (not too dark), if her eyes are brown, use a green or a gold. The trick is too use a color directly opposite the color of the eye. I have blue eyes and maroon makes the color pop. Don't put it on too heavy and be sure to blend. Use a light pink or white under the eyebrow. Use a black or bronze eyeliner. Don't match the dress, shoes, or anything else.

I am a cosmetologist, keep her eyeshadow colors in the same family of the dress, unless her dress is like a bright orange or something like that.Browns, plums and darker blues can be shaded to go with anything.

I would never, never match the eye shadow to the outfit...... I watch so many makeover shows that say that it is too much when you try to match your makeup to your outfit. Sometimes it just don't look good either, unless the dress is black, and you do the dramatic smokey eye look then that would be beautiful, but if its pink, blue, or white I don't think I would try it. if she has blue eyes, then a light shimmer color, like cover girls shimmering sand, or if she has brown eyes they say to use a tint of a deep purple to make them pop.

yeah if you want her face to be invisible... Seriously. NO! If her Dress is say, light blue, for instance, make her eyeshadow a soft pink or golden champagnee. Anything BUT matching! It will draw attention TO her eyes, not BLEND and take AWAY from her face.

It's best to choose the most flattering shade for her eyes.

I think that would be too overdone, try to make it a color that really matches nicely and adds drama to her eyes... it also depends on the dress color

never match the shadow to the dress..go with a more subtle shade..something that will nicely complement the color of her dress..i usually just stick to shimmery shades of brown cuz ive found that thye really bring out my eyes..work on emphasizing her eyes..but do NOT match them

No don't! Make it a little more natural with a shimmery brown, it goes with any skin color and dress.
