Yes, go ! .....I just came back from 4 weeks touring Spain and Portugal and I really enjoyed it ....Now is a good time, high tourist season is over, you won't have any problem finding accommodation or places to eat and it will be cheaper than during the summer.
Spain is charming....they have great beaches, outstanding cities with magnificent architecture and lots of history, street markets, different food and very good wines but I must admit I did not find people working in the tourist industry very friendly in big towns, I prefer the little villages...
Do yourself a favor and invest in a good book to learn about the places you are visiting.....it will help you to discover little hidden gems like we did.....
We particularly enjoyed the Galician region ....The North is less touristic, less busy, more genuine but in general Spain is great and I am sure you would enjoy a trip there......

Certainly and now is the right time to take a city break after the summer heat has gone and the weather is still dry but noticably cooler.
