There should be stricter supervision at child-care centers, but the major questions is... BY WHOM?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I do not personally know . But I i do KNOW that there are sick people out there who are doing it and getting away with it. I think all of the parents of the children in their day care center...should {without the knowledge of the school or center} get together and appoint "visitors" the parents of course being the visitors and every single parent should participate...and a visit should NEVER be announced it should always be at different times every day.....if a center EVER tells you im sorry but your disturbing the children youll have to let us know in advance..GET your child out right then and there. always have good communication with your children......I dont believe it when a parent says "i didn't suspect a thing little junior didn't say a word or act different "..sorry folks but i can't go for that. You just didn't talk or notice them or care enough to pay attention because a child cannot go through the horrors of that abuse and not show some signs.
In answer to your question....THE PARENTS!!!

I worked at a daycare and it wasn't a very good one and I honestly don't think anyone could get away with it.

I mean there are always at least 2 teachers in every room so unless they were both doing it or one just didn't care that the other was doing it.

Maybe I'm just naive

well they can put some cameras hooked up to the internet, that way they can look in on them anytime.

(By "they" I mean parents, child rapists who can hack into the system, or anyone who may want to time the activities of the owners and "case" the place before they do some dastardly deed.)

Or, the parents can get together with the rest of the extended family and come up with an in-the-family daycare system!

I have heard there are things you look for when choosing a day care....Video cameras installed, and the parent is allowed to drop in whenever they want to!!!!....This is why my husband worked days and I worked nites till the kids were all in school, who do you really trust ya' know? Feel bad for people who Have to put their kids there....Most are probably fine, but there have to be some not so good ones.....Scarey...

not clearly.
It is hidden.
Very difficult to prove.
I would say that it is very very rare. Most people in this profession are in it because they love children, not because children drive them up the wall.
