it's not that hard actually. use equillizer in your player to make the bass volume highest and let others lower. once you hear what a bass sounds like you'll know what to listen to when playing at normal mode.

The bass in a song is a much deeper sound. Singers like
Chamillionare and DMX have a bassy sounding voice for instance.
If you know someone with a keyboard or piano start playing
the white keys from the middle of the keyboard to your left
side until you reach the end of the keyboard this will give you
an idea of what bass sounds like. The first key you hit will
be middle C which is a higher pitch and as you work left the
keys will become a lower pitch ( bassier sounding)
You can develop your ear for music this way.
When you develop your ear for music in this way you will
be able to pick the sound out of a song, it just takes practice.

get a subwoofer and crank that baby up! if you can't hear or feel the bass, then the problem is you!

also, if you can hear the bass drum from the drumset, the bass drum often plays around the same time as the bass guitar does, so then you know when the bass guitar is playing and you just have to figure out what note it is playing.

Turn up the bass, turn down the treble, and/or get better speakers.
