I went through this decision and chose the Civic EX Sedan

Here's why...

Si is tough to get (availability) and driving stick is annoying in stop and go.
Hybrid is tough to get (availability) and depending on the gas price may not be worth the extra price (esp. when the EX gives 30-40)
GX doesn't have nearly as much power as the sedan or coupe
Coupe only has 2 doors and less space so it's tougher to move around people and things.

I can tell that I'm getting old now when selecting a 4 door over a 2 door. The previous person was right in that the Si would be too hard to get (and probably insure). I would have to choose the Sedan EX (30/40 mpg is sufficient without having to go hybrid or GX and try to find a way to fill the tank) with the navigation system.

Honda has one of the best nav systems on the market and it also controls the a/c and other functions. Great feature, we have it in our Pilot.

Well, I bought the 2006 Civic Sedan in EX trim, with a stick shift, and I'm really happy with it. The mileage is almost as good as the Civic Hybrid, and it costs thousands less. And, of course, you don't have to worry about depreciation as the costly hybrid batteries wear out.

I always thought of the 99-00 Si as the best civic ever, but the 06s and now 07s just rock. you cant get a better handling car for even another 10K. not just the Si either but all of them
