The nut is probably rusted on. Liquid wrench is not immediate, wait an hour and try again. be sure your are turning it the right direction. as a last resort. Take a hack saw, or easier, a sawzall and cut it off

It sounds like you're replacing the guts of the toilet so it won't matter. Use a hack saw blade to slip between the toilet base and the nut then saw. Unless it's really old, it will be copper or plastic, both of which will be easy to get through.

WD40, a wrench, and a screwdriver. Spray the WD40 on the top of the nut and let it soak down through. Well, it worked for me. Good luck

How'd it get there in the first place? LOL

Try unscrewing the lid entirely from the bowl. You'll have to pop the caps first.

I suggest you find a small child, LOL, kids love to put their hands on things or get them into tight spaces. Have the little one crawl in the back and tell them to play. LOL..you never know. Good Luck.
