How am I safer wearing black than pink or red? Last time I checked terrorists didn't target people based on what colour their shirt was.

Al Queda and other terrorists groups DO target tourists, who can often be easily spotted by the colour of their shirts. But she may just not feel socially comfortable with a 'loud American' beside her (I assume she is Jordanian and you are going to see her, otherwise, she may just be talking out of her *ss based on what she saw on our specially selected news stations)

You will blend in better as all women wear black in Jordan. Also do not show much skin and wear a scarf. Trust me it is better to BLEND IN as much as possible. Remember you are going to a place with a completely different culture...one that values respect much more than the west does. You don't want to be seen as a disrespectful "ugly" American.
