To more accurately relate the Biblical account:

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." Genesis 1:27

Genesis 2, in the second reference, covers the same creation with a different perspective. That's where God is shown forming woman from a rib removed from man. This isn't really a foundation of faith.

An evolutionary view is harder for me to imagine. Not only must the organism we call homo sapiens evolve, but it must also be capable of reproducing itself, sexually or otherwise. Did the male and the female evolve somewhat independently, at the same place and time, and were at that time capable of sexual reproduction? Did homo sapiens evolve and reproduce by some other means and eventually become capable of sexual reproduction? The last reference on page 366 has the only related information I found in two statements. "Homo sapiens sapiens originated about 200,000 years ago in Africa from a single female ancestor, 'Eve'" and "there is a rival theory that humans evolved in different parts of the world simultaneously."

As you can imagine, scientific validation of any of this is extremely difficult. It happened a really long time ago.

Probably not something that science can validate. If the fossil record is considered valid, the hard reality is that there are so few living things that have made it to the point of being a fossil; the likelihood of finding something so ancient is not there.

On the other hand, if one believes in the Genesis version, there's still no way to "prove" anything, since such a belief usually involves a certain disdain for the scientific method, so there could be little agreement on a universally accepted set of rules concerning evidence and its interpretation.

There is no specific way to find out how. Aside from all of this religious bullsh*t, you learn that humans were not an original species. Meaning, they evolved off of somthing else. A male and a female of this original species mated, then popped out a human. This was achieved through evolution. The original species birthed a creature that suited the environment much better then they had. And so it continued.

According to all heavenly religeons, God created Adam 1st, then created eve to keep adam company, they lived in heaven until eve was seduced to eat from the forbidden tree.

In short, man came 1st.

Biblically, man came first.

Scientifically, this is a variation on "which came first? The chicken or the egg?" which cannot be proven.
