The accordian...worlds most misunderstood instrument?

I just think it seem so cumbersome and silly but I heard this Russian song today that had one in it and I really liked the way it sounded.

it has a lovely, kind of weird but haunting sound...once it loses it's "Lawrence Welk/Polka Band" connotation it will be due for a "comeback" for someone creative enough to use it on "pop" music...

i love the intro to tom waits' 'raindogs'... it's an accordian!

slavic/baltic music with accordian is SEXY! i'm not even joking.

amen to laying lawrence welk to rest, though... amen
