Delete your temporary internet files and all of the programs that you don't use. Go to add/remove programs and start deleting away. If you have a lot of music or videos, burn them to DVD or CD and delete them from your hard drive.
Go get 'em tiger!
(you can get a new hard drive really cheap at New Egg.com)

Download the program PKZip, it is free: http://www.winzip.com/
You can use it to compress your files. Don't use the Windows Compression routine because it will be hard to recover from a drive failure, and you might lose the data.
Clean off your hard drive.
Double Click on My Computer > select the drive and right click on it once. On the drop down menu select Properties then look for the pie graph in the middle of the dialogue box and go to the Disk Cleanup button below it. This will safely clean up your hard drive. Again I DO NOT recommend that you use the compression button radio button at the bottom of the page.
PKZip works by taking several files and putting them into one file, where it uses up all the space. You can't access the information in the Zip File without unziping it, but you can compress your data files to store them this way.
You can also take some files, even the zip files, and copy them to a CD or DVD. It is wise to make two copies and store them in different places. If you need that data later then you can go to that CD and reload it.
For a small fee some Internet Sites will let you store data on them. The data is stored on their servers so if you computer burns up then when you replace the computer you can still get those files.
The only way you can get more room on your Hard Drive is to remove some stuff, like extra temporary files, no longer needed install files, and extra cookies. The Disk Cleanup button will do this for you safely; it won't touch your data or delete anything that you need. Then take what you aren't using and pull it off the machine to store it somewhere else, it is always a good idea to make a backup of these copies.

1. delete stuff
2. compress stuff by right clicking one thing and sending it to a compressed (zipped) folder then drag stuff i (this makes files smaller)
3. use disk cleanup wizard by: start>all programs>accesspries>system tools>disk cleanup
4. make sure this is the last thing you do after the first 3 steps defragment start>all programs>accessories>system tools>disk defragment
this should free up a little bit of space, but new hard drives are cheap at newegg.com

The only way to make more room is to delete things you don't need / want. You can uninstall programs you don't use... unless you don't know what you're doing... then I probably wouldn't mess with that. If you REALLY know what you're doing, you can delete certain operating system files, but that's not really for the average user.
