lets start with the human body you chew your food which releases salivary amylase and other digestive enzymes then it goes into the stomach where hydrochloric acid breaks it down further then it goes into the intestines where it is catabolized and metabolized into starches, proteins , carbohydrates and sugars then to fatty acids glycerols then we break it down to atp and adp molecules when are used as energy stored in cells and other places untill needed the sugars are broken down into different types like glucose , sucrose, maltose galactose and dextrose and frutose some of which is burned for energy other stored for future use after hundreds of processes it is then stripped of all nutrients and water and is excreted through the alimentary canal and the kidneys and exits the body and there is the simplified version of food digestion hope that helps Gorbalizer

nicely.... enable's purely say that if the insects could not digest it, then it does not be "nutrition". "nutrition" is what's waiting to be digested and used in the physique - this leaves out in all probability 3/4 of the crap they sell you on the shop like Pop cakes and Dorito Corn Chips - empty, ineffective, incredibly indigestible stuff.
