Most of your abuse shelters are started by a local church,,or through the community.
I bet if you could find others in your community that would stand by you,,you could start by going to some of your local churches,or even going to the town clerk and asking if he/she could direct you in the right direction.
I have to agree as to a shelter for abused men,,,it does seem to be all about woman,,and society does not realize that there are men out there in similar situations as to abusive relationships where they are the victim.

Honey I really don't have an answer to your question . But I really give you credit for wanting to do such a wonderful thing. Most people think it is all about women being abused, but there are a lot of men out there that are being abused also. I sincerely hope you find a way to start your mission. i'd love to know, my boyfriend was beaten, and even though the number of men being abused is low they need somewhere to go as well. in our city we have an A.B.W. (alternatives for Battered Women), but nothing for men, i mean NOTHING. let me know. and there is nothing for men who have abused their spouce, and want help and havnt been mandated by the court. so if you find out, let me know.
