We just moved to the US from Africa and it has been really hard for us to get my 14years old son admission into a college. He is a gifted student so he got thru secondary school fast. he's a holder of the G.C.E O level certificate which is equivalent to the High School Diploma here in US. Please do let me know if u know any college that can offer him admission.

Wow, your son's a genius! But let him finish high school. Don't put too much pressure on him by sending him to college now!

The Air stress Academy is between the hardest faculties to get into contained in the rustic. think about to make a minimum of a three.5 GPA to also be considered. alongside with good grades you'll need AP or twin credit training. It would not look good to the Admission crew once you've a three.5 GPA yet no AP or twin credit because pretty a lot all applicants have above a three.5 GPA and AP/twin credit training. Extracurricualr activities are also important. Volunteer lots (highly your 10-11 grade years) and if the college has a JROTC software connect. in the adventure that your college would not then connect Civil Air Patrol. you even could get nominated by skill of a Congressman or Senator and make confident you start up making use of the summer after your 11 grade 12 months. also take section in activities. pretty a lot all cadets have a letter jacket in a varsity sport. the game would not count as long as you get excitement from and prevail then they don't care if it really is football or swimming or the different sport. keep your grades up, be a pacesetter, teach a good moral personality, and get good recomendations. good success!!!

I'm absolutely sure that there are some colleges that will offer admission. However, you might first want him to take the SAT or ACT, the standards for college admission in America.

I've heard of 10 year olds going to college, so it's really no big deal.

Here are some colleges:
Mary Baldwin College
Randolph Macon College in Ashland, Virginia

PS: Honestly, I don't think you have a "son", unless your father is using this account. :) and nice try, there's no such thing as a "GCEO". sorry.

I know that there are 14 year olds here at UC Berkeley, where I go to school, however most have taken many community college classes while in their primary and secondary schooling, so could apply as transfer students. I know that Cal State LA will accept people straight out of middle school through a program they have and i know quite a few people who have gotten in, and i know USC will consider people too, but I dont know any that have gotten in there.

The problem with gifted students, such as your son, is that they may be able to handle the academic work, but they are not yet mature enough to live on their own, or in a dorm situation, where he would have to have a legal guardian. You would likely do better with a smaller college near your home so your son could live at home.

have him take the SATs. college admission is not so much dependant upon age as it is academic record, scores on the SATs, and extra-curricular activities (indicating well-roundedness).

If all he has is a GCEO, that may mean absolutely nothing to an admissions counselor. if there isn't a clear academic record, i'd try having him take some classes on the communtiy college level to establish an academic record here in the US

He needs to first take the SAT's and then enroll him in a local COMMUNITY COLLEGE .. they WILL take him if he passes the SAT's an their internal testing. In our state a high school student can take some college classes while still in high school. After 2 years on community college he can transfer to a regular college if his grades are good enough ...

Send me an email. I think my college would be interested.

Seriously, if you kid is the next Einstien, I think that every college will be interested.

There are lots of very good small colleges in the USA. Many of them have the ability to work with people like your son.

A foreign certificate doesn't mean much, especially at that age. He probably has to enroll in high school here.

Nah, seriously doubt a 14-year-old would get admitted...way too young socially and not trained enough academically.
