Not till the day that baby is born. If you take it any sooner you are wasting days and it'll make time go by SOOOOO slowly (as if it doesn't do that already=)

wow if u are in high school u must be young!
but that doesnt matter my lil sis was 17 when she had a baby and she's a great mum, i would say when u have about 6 weeks to to would be the best time. unless u feel now that u cant do anymore work! but it's your last year and and it's still considered safe to do work until your last month. try and get as much work at school done as possible. they might even let u finish at home!
good luck and congratulations.

My plan is really to go up to the day I am due. My baby is due on April 16th and I'm a teacher. I plan on going till April 6th because the week after that is Spring Break and the Monday after Spring Break is the day my baby is due.
Talk with your doctor, they will let you know if they think you can go right up to your due date. I know many women who work up to the day their baby is born, but other that had to go on maternity leave only a couple months into being pregnant. Good luck.

You really should be discussing this with your doctor. He/She would be better suited to tell you. Depending on the nature of your pregnancy, if you are very healthy or if you foresee a bed rest time that will determine when you should go on maternity leave. If you are healthy (again consult your physician) I would think to prepare 2 weeks before your due date would be plenty of time. Most they will probably allow is 8 weeks so you will not want to over do it with the time off. Take care of yourself, ask your DOCTOR!!

IF IT WERE ME SINCE ITS YOUR LAST YEAR I WOULD STAY IN AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. BUT THATS JUST ME. IM WORKING AT A JOB NOW WHERE I WORK 12-14 A NIGHT AND THE ONLY REASON IM GOING ON MATERNITY LEAVE IS BC DR TOLD ME TO. IF YOU REALLY DONT KNOW ASK YOUR DOCTOR WHEN YOU SHOULD MOST WILL TELL YOU A GOOD TIME TO THINK ABOUT IT. CONGRATS

That would depend on you and your situation. When I was pregnant, I had no complecations, so I worked right up until I went into labor and went back after 3 weeks. If it is at all possible, I suggest that you miss as little school as possible. You will not have the energy after the baby is born to do a whole lot of catching up. Good Luck Hon!!! I hope that you have a lot of support and if you don't you are always welcome to send me a message.

I think it depends on how much leave you get.
Both of my kids were delivered (due to medical reasons) via C-section. I got 8 weeks of short-term disability. (A normal birth would have given me 6 weeks of short-term disability.) And to claim disability, I had to use two weeks of my own leave.
I planned on working right up until my kids were born. That worked with my second one, but I had to go on bedrest three weeks before the birth of my first, and that counted against my 10 weeks of leave, so I only got to spend 7 weeks with her.
I would say work or go to school until you can't, because your doctor says so or because you're just too uncomfortable. You want to spend as much time with your baby as possible. But you also want to finish school or keep your job. So work around the rules to get as much as you can without putting yourself in the hole.

If you are in high school then you can have it arranged to do your work from home and have it sent to school each Friday or Monday.
Most schools are willing to work with you. I actually left classes in my 7th month and returned about 2 months after my son was born.
Go and talk to your guidance counselor and they can help you arrange things! Good luck and Never give up!

I didn't go on maternity leave until after I had the kid.
I worked full time up until the day I had her, too.
try to have someone deliver your school work for you. Don't give up. It sucks not to graduate.

Probably sometime after the 7th month unless you feel bad.The most important thing to consider is how you feel.It depends on your level of comfort, you don't want to over do it.Maybe even part-time up till you have the baby.Congrats!
